FAQ’s

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness that will allow messages to be directly related to your subconscious so quick change can be accomplished.
Can anybody be hypnotized?
Anybody who:
a. Wants to be hypnotized
b. Can concentrate
can be hypnotized.
Can I be hypnotized against my will?
Ethically, no. I only say that because there are some crazy people out there who will try to play “mind tricks” on you to get you to do a certain thing. Hypnosis through a hypnosis session with me will result in only the results you desire. In fact, I encourage you to bring a digital voice recorder so you can listen to your session during the following week, until your next session.
Does a hypnotized person give up control?
Nope! While you are in an altered state of consciousness during hypnosis, you are still fully alert on some level that will allow you to remain in control.
Have I really been hypnotized before?
Yes! You know when you stare off into space and you just can’t move your eyes from what you are “looking” at. That is a form of hypnosis.
How are your sessions set up?
The first session always takes longer than the others because we go through a series of items that will tell me how to best hypnotize you. We will also lay out your goal, and the steps it will take to achieve that goal – then we start the hypnosis session and talk for a bit afterward. Subsequent sessions we simply talk a bit about the progress you have had, answer any questions, and get straight to the hypnosis session! You can read all about them here.
How do you get me in a hypnotic state?
After knowing what type of person you are (if you are analytical or non-analytical), I will guide you through different images that will allow you to obtain the right hypnosis state of mind.
How does hypnosis feel?
Hypnosis is a freeing, relaxing feeling. Many times, people feel like they do when they wake up from a good nap.
How does hypnosis work?
Hypnosis gets past that critical conscious mind, so the subconscious mind can absorb the new ideas that is given to it. We will talk much more about this at your first session or email consultation.
How quickly will I see results from hypnosis sessions?
How quickly do you believe you will see results? Typically, it will be 4 to 6 sessions.
If hypnosis is only a tool to help with attaining goals, why do I need to do it?
Simple. If what you had tried before worked, you wouldn’t be looking for additional help! You can count calories, exercise all you can, and eat boring food until the cows come home – but if you are not losing the weight you want to lose, there is something in your subconscious mind that is blocking your success. Hypnosis will unblock that for you so you can finally achieve your goal(s).
Is hypnosis dangerous?
Not at all. Hypnosis is empowering for you! (And for the record, you are completely in control while under hypnosis.)
What are the benefits of hypnosis?
You will more quickly see results of the goal you are trying to obtain – and feel incredibly relaxed during the process.
What if I get stuck in my hypnosis trance?
You will not and cannot get stuck in a hypnotic trance. If the hypnotist were to simply “leave” you, you would wake up on your own when you were ready to.
What issues can be resolved with hypnosis?
What issues can’t be resolved with hypnosis? It all goes back to the subconscious mind… ANY type of problem you are having starts in your subconscious. Hypnosis will get past the blocks you have. So, any issue you have can be resolved with hypnosis.
What makes YOU different from all the other hypnotists?
Other hypnotists will simply take you in and give you a session. I will actually help you map out your goals so you can work on them while you are going through your sessions. It is necessary to actually work on your goal – even though you are undergoing hypnosis sessions. Most hypnotists will not tell you that! If you are not willing to work on your goals outside of hypnosis, it would be best for you to find another hypnotists. You can read About Me here.
Why are some people skeptical about hypnosis?
Some people are skeptical because they have seen numerous movies and TV shows that make people look like big dummies while under hypnosis. They don’t want to “give up control” or cluck like a chicken. These things simply won’t happen while doing hypnosis sessions with me (unless you WANT them to – but that is a little weird.)
Why should I use hypnosis?
To see quicker results with an issue that you have not been able to conquer.
Will I go to sleep during my session?
No. You might feel like you have been asleep, and I will let you believe that – because if feels good to you. There are some people who actually DO go to sleep, and that is only because they are extremely tired and they allowed themselves to become totally relaxed while under hypnosis. If you find that you continually go to sleep during your sessions, you should pick a less comfortable chair to sit in so you will stay awake!
Will I remember everything after the session is over?
Chances are, you will. It might be a few days down the road, and you may not realize you are remembering something from the session; but it is all embedded in your subconscious mind, so it will all be available for recollection!
Will I reveal deep, hidden secrets to you?
No. Not in the hypnosis that I conduct. Even with hypnotherapists who do conduct the type of hypnosis that would allow this – you are completely in control of what you do or don’t say.
Will you make me cluck like a chicken?
Without a doubt. Just kidding! No, I will not make you cluck like a chicken, bark like a dog, or think you are freezing cold, or anything else remotely related to that question. I want you to succeed with your hypnosis. You acting crazy is not a goal of mine!
